Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has been praised by talkSPORT pundit Tony Cascarino who feels he is an “amazing” player.
The 25-year-old defender has flourished under Jurgen Klopp and he is undoubtedly one of the best full-backs in the world, let alone Premier League.
Trent has managed more assists than any full-back in Premier League history, and Cascarino says that the Liverpool homegrown boy is “probably the best” footballing full-back he has ever seen.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Cascarino says that Trent has a “sensational” passing range but he could lose his place in the full-back role due to the rapid emergence of Conor Bradley.
Cascarino has made a bold claim that Trent could even leave the club in the summer, as he thinks, the big Spanish clubs could make a move for him.
“Look, Trent is an amazing footballer. Probably the best footballing full-back I’ve ever seen. His passing range is sensational,” said Cascarino.
“The bigger question for Liverpool is how highly they rate him, I am sure they do. Do they think he can be a right-back? I’ve got a sneaky feeling that Trent might leave in the summer.”
Trent Alexander-Arnold is the heartbeat of Liverpool
The Reds full-back has often been criticized for his defensive frailties, but he brings more to the table. Klopp has been able to get the best out of him, and his successor should look to find a way to get the best of Trent as well.
Bradley is a terrific young talent who could probably cement his place as the first-choice defender at the club in years to come. However, Trent can be utilized in central midfield as well where he would be equally effective.
He loves the club and plays with passion. Liverpool are in a strong financial position and they have no reason to offload him, even if clubs like Real Madrid come up with a big-money offer.
It is unclear who the next manager will be after Klopp, but whoever he may be, his main job won’t be to dismantle what Klopp has done. Rather, his central task will be to build from Klopp’s legacy, and get the best out of the quality players the club have at their disposal.
