Everton may have to sell some of their top players in the summer transfer window, especially if they suffer relegation at the end of the season.
The Toffees are currently 16th in the Premier League table with four points above the drop zone. Sean Dyche’s side are likely to face more point deductions after breaching the FFP regulation, which could put them further close to the drop zone.
Even if they manage to stay up, the club could look to offload some of their assets to gain some financial stability, although it is far from ideal.
Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite is already attracting interest from Premier League rival Manchester United, and other players could be lured away. One of them could be midfielder Amadou Onana.
The Belgium midfielder has admirers in the Premier League, but David Ornstein says that Arsenal are highly unlikely to move for him.
Everton midfielder wanted by Euro giants
According to a report from The Telegraph, German giants Bayern Munich are looking to revamp their midfield in the summer, and they are ready to step up chase for Onana.
Bayern are looking to add a defensive midfielder and targeted Joao Palhinha last summer. The Fulham midfielder even had a medical but the move collapsed in the end.
The 22-year-old midfielder has scored three goals in 22 appearances for the Toffees this season and recently played in the 2-2 draw against England at Wembley. His performances have caught the attention of heavyweight clubs like Bayern who are impressed with his progress.
Everton paid £33m to sign him from Lille, and they are expected to demand a fee of over £60m for the highly-rated midfielder.
The Toffees must now focus on picking up some wins and climbing up the table. They have not picked up a win in 2024, and desperately need points on board. Everton will face AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday (30 March) at the Vitality Stadium.
