David Prutton predicts outcome of Leeds United clash v Millwall

Leeds United will face Millwall in the Championship on Sunday at Elland Road and David Prutton has shared his prediction on Sky Sports.

After beating Sheffield Wednesday 2-0, the Whites face another strong challenge against an inform side.

Leeds are the only side in the Championship who have remained unbeaten at home so far, and they have been phenomenal in 2024, having won 12 of their last 13 matches, the other one being a draw.

They are up against Millwall who are brimming with confidence having picked up three wins and a draw in their last four Championship games.

At one point, Leicester City were leading by 12 points, but Leeds have now closed to gap to three at the top, and they could move to the top of the table with a win here, with Leicester City in FA Cup action this week.

Writing in his latest EFL predictions column for Sky Sports, Prutton expects a ‘feisty’ fixture and says that it will be a close contest. He has predicted a 2-1 win for Leeds.

Prutton backs Leeds United to maintain the winning run

“Leeds United can go top of the Championship table here, which is incredible when you consider how much they’ve closed the gap on Leicester – who are in FA Cup action this weekend. A win by two or more goals sends them to the summit,” said Prutton.

“But they are up against a Millwall side who are resurgent under Neil Harris, having picked up 10 points from a possible 12. This is always a feisty fixture, and I reckon it will be close. But Leeds should have enough.”

Leeds won the reverse fixture 3-0 but this could be a close contest, given the form Millwall are in at the moment. Moreover, these two sides are strong rivals historically and fans can expect a feisty affair.

The Whites have looked unbeatable at Elland Road this season, but anything less than three points will be seen as a disappointment. The race for automatic promotion is very tight at the moment, with Ipswich Town sitting third in the table, with a point behind Leeds, so the top three teams cannot afford to drop many points.
