Liverpool will face Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday (10 March) at Anfield.
Just a point separates the two sides, and it will be a massive game for both teams. Arsenal are third in the table, just two points behind Liverpool, and hence the outcome of this fixture could have a huge bearing on the Premier League title race this season.
Ahead of the match, Erling Haaland has paid rich compliments to Liverpool skipper Virgil van Dijk, saying the Dutchman is a “monster”.
Van Dijk is not only one of the best centre-backs in the world but arguably one of the finest defenders the Premier League has ever seen. He has been in tremendous form this season and Haaland says the Dutchman is an “unreal” player.
“He is the main guy in Liverpool. He is unreal and also really nice guy as well,” said Haaland on TNT Sport.
“He is a monster and I like to play against players like him.”
Massive game in the Premier League
Liverpool will need no extra motivation when they face Man City this weekend. This is Jurgen Klopp’s final season at Anfield, and the Reds are looking to give him a fairy tale ending by winning as many trophies as they can.
The Reds have already won the Carabao Cup, and they are active in the other three competitions as well. They are heading into this game on the back of seven wins in a row in all competitions and showed great fighting spirit to earn a 1-0 win in their last league game against Nottingham Forest.
Liverpool have struggled with injury problems but somehow they’ve managed to win games during this adversity. Klopp will welcome back Mohamed Salah for this game, and his return to the side is a massive boost for the club.
Van Dijk has shown great leadership skills this season and he will have to play a key role against Man City on Sunday, especially if Ibrahima Konate misses out with an injury.
