Everton are currently not in a position to think about the next transfer window.
The Toffees are burdened with loads of problems, one of them being securing Premier League safety for next season.
Everton were docked six points (initially they lost ten points) and they could lose more points as they expect another round of hearing shortly.
Lying 16th in the league table, only four points above the drop zone, and with another point deduction on the horizon, the Toffees can be excused if they don’t shift focus to transfer plans.
On top of that, the Premier League are yet to give the green signal for the 777-Partners’ takeover to go ahead. Therefore, the news of Everton missing out on some of their transfer targets will not come as a big surprise to many.
Everton could miss out on Che Adams
According to a report from The Telegraph, Everton and Nottingham Forest have both had Che Adams in their sights in recent windows.
However, both clubs are struggling to secure their top-flight status after points deductions for breaching Premier League profit-and-sustainability rules.
Adams has been in fantastic form this season, scoring nine goals in his last 18 matches for Saints. He has scored 114 goals in his career and has got loads of Premier League experience as well.
Most importantly, Adams has a contract at St Mary’s until the end of the season, and there is no inclination that he would be offered a new deal.
As it stands, Wolves are looking to sign a new striker and they are leading the race to sign the 27-year-old during the summer window on a free transfer.
Everton badly need to bolster their forward department. Dominic Calvert-Lewin hasn’t scored since October while Beto has failed to ensure that he can be a reliable back-up option.
Adams on a free transfer could have been a brilliant signing for the Toffees, but they are not in a position to think about transfer plans. Sean Dyche’s side are yet to win a Premier League game in 2024, and they have to pick some wins to secure their league status.
