Everton are fighting for survival in the Premier League this season despite getting four points back, and no one knows what’s going to happen in the next few months.
Irrespective of where they finish at the end of the season, the Toffees will have to sell some of their prized assets once again to get themselves financially stable.
Jarrad Branthwaite, Jordan Pickford and Amadou Onana are some of Everton’s bankable assets. Brathwaite has been outstanding for the Toffees this season and he has been targeted by a host of Premier League clubs including Manchester United.
The 21-year-old has been a rock at the back and has forged a strong partnership alongside James Tarkowski. He recently scored a spectacular goal against Brighton as well, and the Toffees are expected to demand a fee in the region of £100m for him.
According to a report from The Mirror, Everton are keeping close tabs on Hull City defender Jacob Greaves who is seen as a potential replacement for Branthwaite.
The 23-year-old has been outstanding for Liam Rosenior’s side, and he is earning rave reviews from his manager. West Ham wanted to sign him in January while Crystal Palace are also one of his admirers.
Jacob Greaves would be a smart addition for Everton
Greaves has been one of the standout centre-backs in the Championship this season. Hull are currently sixth in the Championship and if they return to the Premier League, it will be difficult for other clubs to lure him away.
“I have to say first and foremost before we speak about his, his development and his growth is absolutely magnificent. I’m seeing it in front of my eyes. It’s one of the best parts of my job,” Rosenior said.
“He’s becoming a real leader in the dressing room even more so than before. The way he lives, the way he works in the gym, the way he trains is absolutely top. We’re working with him on his temperament.”
The defender has made 34 appearances for the Tigers this season and has often captained the side as well. At the moment, Everton’s top priority is to secure Premier League safety. The Toffees are not in a position to plan in the summer window until they have a new owner in place.
