Gary Lineker and Ian Wright rave about Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze

Crystal Palace have been left frustrated after they conceded a stoppage-time goal against Luton Town in the Premier League on Saturday at Selhurst Park.

The Eagles took an early lead through Jean-Philippe Mateta, but a late goal from Cauley Woodrow saw Luton Town snatch a draw.

In the second half, Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze attempted a spectacular effort from 60 yards out but it just clipped the top of the bar.

Gary Lineker hailed the effort from the 25-year-old midfielder as “sensational”, while Ian Wright described it as “superb” in their analysis on Match of the Day.

Eze was brilliant throughout the game and could have scored one or two goals had he been more clinical. The same can be said about Mateta as well.

“This is sensational. It would have been..,” said Lineker.

“That was just superb. Superb effort,” added Wright.

Eberechi Eze was outstanding for Crystal Palace

The Eagles will be very frustrated with how the match ended. They were arguably the better side of the two and created better chances, but Luton deserves the credit for hanging in there and kept pushing for the equalizer.

Eze scored in the previous game for Palace and he continued his impressive form against Luton. It was an “unbelievable” effort from a distance, and it shows the confidence of the player.

It has been suggested that Eze probably doesn’t fit into Oliver Glasner’s high-intensity football. However, he is a key player for the club, and surely the new manager will come up with a plan to get the best out of him.

On Saturday we saw Palace using the tactics of long direct passes and it troubled the Luton defence. Palace have conceded 10 goals this season after the 90th minute and lost around 18 points from winnable position, and this is something Glasner needs to change in the future.
