Liverpool will look to maintain their winning run in the Premier League when they take on Premier League champions Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday.
This is a massive game for both sides and can be seen as a potential title decider, although Arsenal, who won against Brentford on Saturday, are in the mix as well.
Liverpool have enjoyed success over City at Anfield in recent years and know very well how to handle the pressure. This is probably the last time Jurgen Klopp will face Pep Guardiola in the Premier League, so this fixture bears extra importance as well.
Ahead of the match, Liverpool winger Harvey Elliott has showered praise on Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez. The 24-year-old scored a brace against Sparta Prague in the last game, and Elliott has hailed him as an “unbelievable talent”.
“Darwin is massive for us – and not just for the weekend but for any game for Liverpool,” said Elliott, as quoted by The Mirror (10 March, page 51).
“He is a massive player, hence the price tag and why Liverpool brought him in. He is an unbelievable talent and he is only going to get better and better.
“He is showing glimpses of his goalscoring ability and we are all so happy for him. He just needs to keep going, keep the confidence going.”
Massive game for Liverpool
This is turning out to be a thrilling three-horse title race and it is difficult to predict who will win the trophy at the end of the season.
Liverpool will go second in the league, on the same points as Arsenal, even if they manage a draw today. However, if they lose, they will drop down to third. A victory, however, will put them at the top of the table once again.
Nunez has been in spectacular form this season, and he is gradually justifying his £85m price tag. Nunez has scored five goals in his last four games.
He has scored 10 goals and provided seven assists in the Premier League this season, and Jurgen Klopp will need him to be on top of his game against Man City.
