Arsenal moved to the top of the Premier League table after winning 2-1 against Brentford at the Emirates on Saturday.
Kai Havertz scored in the 86th minute as the Gunners earned a crucial win ahead of Liverpool’s clash against Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday.
Mikel Arteta’s side started the game strongly and took the lead in the 19th minute through Declan Rice’s flicked header.
A mistake from Aaron Ramsdale, who was playing because David Raya was ineligible against his parent club, allowed Yoane Wissa to score at the stroke of halftime.
Ramsdale redeemed himself in the second half and made some very good saves. In the end, Havertz scored a fantastic header to seal all three points, although he should have been booked for diving earlier on.
Ben White was one of the standout performers for the Gunners, and Ian Wright praised him heavily on Match of the Day, saying he was “magnificent”.
“Ben White was magnificent, Sake did well obviously,” said Wright.
“Ben White finds him [Declan Rice, while watching footage] and he has been brilliant. Two assists in two games. He has been playing really well.”
Arsenal are unstoppable at the moment
