Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch fit to play v Man Utd

Liverpool will travel to Old Trafford to face Manchester United in the FA Cup quarter-final on Sunday (17 March).

The Reds are heading into this match on the back of a 6-1 win against Sparta Prague in the Europa League on Thursday, winning the tie 11-2 on aggregate.

Ahead of the match, Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that midfielder Ryan Gravenberch is fully fit now, and he is available for selection against the Red Devils.

The 21-year-old midfielder picked up an injury during Liverpool’s EFL Cup victory against Chelsea at Wembley and hasn’t played since. However, he has trained this week, and Klopp can now include him in the matchday squad.

Bobby Clarke, who was exceptional in midweek, picked up a knock against Sparta, but Klopp has confirmed that he can shake it off as well.

“Ryan Gravenberch trained again today so he is ready,” said Klopp, as quoted by BBC Sport.

Liverpool injury boost

The Reds managed to cope with injury problems admirably well during their toughest period where they were without a host of first-team players.

Mohamed Salah and Dominik Szoboszlai have already returned to the first team and it won’t be long before other important players will join them including Gravenberch.

Ibrahima Konate is still doubtful for the FA Cup game, but Mohamed Salah is fully fit.

Klopp has confirmed that Curtis Jones is recovering smoothly and he is likely to return straight after the international break which will be a huge boost for the side.

Likewise, Diogo Jota and Trent Alexander-Arnold are expected to return by the end of the month as well. Stefan Bajcetic is also processing well but the Reds will give him more time to work on his fitness.

In case Konate doesn’t make the squad, Klopp is likely to start with Jarell Quansah once again. The youngster has looked rock solid at the back and has impressed every time he took the pitch.
