Tottenham Hotspur have been entertaining to watch under Ange Postecoglou but he will need at least two or three transfer windows to sculpt the squad to his own taste.
The loss of Harry Kane hasn’t hit them hard, rather players like Micky van de Ven and James Maddison have improved the squad immensely.
By now Postecoglou must have developed a clear idea of who doesn’t fit in his plans at all. Spurs should sell fringe squad players and vacate the space for new arrivals.
According to transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg could leave the club in the summer transfer window.
The 28-year-old midfielder was linked with a move to several Italian clubs in the summer, but any potential deal didn’t materialise as Spurs were only willing to sell the Denmark international permanently.
However, Romano says that in recent days, the former Bayern Munich midfielder, who will enter the final 12 months of his contract next summer, has changed his agency, and a potential move away from the club could be on the cards.
“In recent days, the Tottenham midfielder [Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg] has signed with new agency with USG Italy,” said Romano.
“In January, he was on the list of Juventus and Napoli but nothing happened. Tottenham always said permanent transfer or nothing.
“For Hojbjerg, we are entering the final year of his contract. Tottenham knows at this point they can sell the player or lose him as a free agent, because there are no new negotiations over a new deal.
“Keep an eye, because there will be conversations over potential summer exit.”

The Danish defensive midfielder joined in the summer of 2020 from Southampton and has made over 170 appearances for the club.
This season, he has made six starts in the Premier League and a further 19 appearances have come from the bench. It shows that he remains a utility player for Postecoglou but he is someone who is not a guaranteed starter.
He was wanted by several clubs in Italy in recent transfer windows. The fact that he has shifted to an Italian agency suggests that he is probably thinking of moving to Serie A next summer.
There’s no point losing him for free, and it makes sense for Spurs to cash in on him if they receive a good offer.
