Liverpool moved to the top of the Premier League table after they won 2-1 against Brighton at Anfield on Sunday.
The Reds were stunned after Brighton scored an early goal through Danny Welbeck inside the opening two minutes.
After that, the home side dominated the proceedings and apart from the odd threat from the right-hand side in the first half, Liverpool were arguably the better side of the two.
Alexis Mac Allister was outstanding and he was at the centre of everything Liverpool did today. Mohamed Salah had seven chances to score in the first half, (and 12 overall) but the Egyptian could not find the finishing touch as he would have liked.
Luis Diaz equalised for the Reds in the 27th minute scoring from close range. In the second half, Liverpool broke Brighton’s resilience through Salah, after Mac Allister found him with a delicate pass inside the box.

Caoimhin Kelleher 6
Liverpool conceded an early goal and Kelleher could hardly do anything about it. Apart from that, he wasn’t tested enough. Whatever challenges were thrown towards the end, the Reds goalkeeper dealt it easily.
Virgil van Dijk 7
The Dutchman was influential as usual and kept things tight at the back. Picked up a yellow card in the second half but remained calm and composed in difficult situations.
Jarell Quansah 6
Most of Brighton’s attacks have come from the right-hand side, and Quansah initially had a tough time. He gradually recovered and made some fantastic interceptions.
Joe Gomez 7
The England defender started the game on the left-hand side but at times moved to the centre of the pitch. Made some brilliant challenges and won the ball back quickly.
Conor Bradley 8
The right-back was superb in the first half. Defensively, he probably could have done better but he compensated that with his attacking prowess. The youngster was involved with some fantastic link-up plays on the right-hand side and got into good scoring positions as well.
Wataru Endo 6
Steady in midfield. He made important tackles and helped Quansah and Bradley in defence. Full of energy in the middle of the park. Picked up a booking towards the end.
Alexis Mac Allister 9
Outstanding. The Argentine was sensational in midfield and he was clearly head and shoulder above the rest. He was the central creative force for the Reds and looked the most influential player on the pitch every time he had the ball. Played out a lovely pass to Salah for the second goal. MOTM.
Dominik Szoboszlai 6
He was unusually quiet in midfield. Tried his luck from a distance in the 62nd minute. Grew in confidence towards the end of the game.
Darwin Nunez 4
The Uruguayan striker hardly touched the ball in the first half. Tried to influence the game from the left in the second half but lacked the clever movements we all know he is capable of. At times, he failed to make simple passes but made one effort on goal. Overall, it wasn’t his best day.
Luis Diaz 6
Worked hard throughout the game. Showed intelligent movement in the build-up to the goal, and found the net with a superb effort. He was a constant threat with his movement and trickery. He was involved in a swift counter-attack and passed a brilliant ball to Salah who couldn’t score.
Mohamed Salah 6
It was arguably one of Salah’s worst games in a Red shirt. He looked rusty and lacked sharpness. Missed loads of chances in the first half but scored the crucial goal in the second half from close range.
