Mohamed Salah scored for Liverpool as the Reds won 2-1 against Brighton in the Premier League on Sunday (31 March) at Anfield.
With Manchester City playing Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday, Liverpool needed to get all three points.
Brighton are a difficult side to beat, and they made it hard for the Reds after Danny Welbeck scored the opening goal inside 90 seconds.
Liverpool dominated possession and got the equaliser through Luis Diaz who scored from close range before the half-hour mark. In the second half, the Reds maintained the pressure and got the winning goal through Salah who was making his first league start since New Year’s Day.
The Egyptian maestro missed a host of chances in both halves, but when it mattered most, he found the net to earn a precious victory for Liverpool.
Roy Keane was impressed with Salah, saying it didn’t bother him that he kept missing chances.
“Then you have got a brilliant goalscorer like Salah. Like all the great goalscorers do, they are not really worried about missing,” he said on Sky Sports.
“Salah, how many chances he missed, 10-11, it didn’t bother him. He kept getting there. What impressed me about Liverpool is that they didn’t panic.”

Salah has missed a lot of action due to muscle injury, which gives the impression that he still lacks the sharpness. His movement has been brilliant and his decision-making has been outstanding as well, but he usually doesn’t miss that many clear-cut chances.
The 31-year-old has managed 22 goals and 12 assists in all competitions this season, including 16 in the league alone. He is a hero at Anfield, and Liverpool need him to deliver as they chase two trophies, including the Premier League.
It wasn’t a vintage performance from Liverpool, but the Reds managed to find the extra bit of quality to break Brighton’s resilience. Alexis Mac Allister was sensational and he made a huge impact today with his energy, passing and creativity.
