Tottenham Hotspur forward Timo Werner has picked some of the toughest opponents he has faced so far in the Premier League.
Werner joined during the January transfer window from RB Leipzig on loan for the rest of the season with Spurs having the option to sign him permanently next summer.
After a slow start to his career at the north London club, the former Chelsea player has looked brilliant in recent games. The 28-year-old opened his scoring account against Crystal Palace and also got his name on the scoresheet against Aston Villa.
He has also registered two assists for the club in just five Premier League starts. Werner said that Manchester City’s Kyle Walker is one such player whom he considers a tough opponent.
The German international further adds that among Tottenham teammates, he considers Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero to be tough opponents.
“Micky is very fast. Cuti [Cristan Romero] is very aggressive, also in training. Probably Cuti because he likes to tackle, he is very good at what he is doing,” said Werner during an interview with the Premier League.

Werner is absolutely spot on here. Van de Ven is very quick, covers a lot of ground, reads the game well, and many feel he is as important to Spurs as Virgil van Dijk is for Liverpool.
Romero, 25, joined the club initially on loan from Atalanta and later the move was made permanent.
The Argentine defender has made 22 starts in the Premier League this season and has four goals to his name. He missed a handful of games through injury, and Spurs badly suffered during that phase.
Romero makes around 2 tackles per game and makes 3.1 clearances, as per whoscored. He is very aggressive and has often picked red cards for his challenges. Nevertheless, he brings leadership at the back, and it seems Werner is heavily impressed by him.
