Tim Sherwood blown away by Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze

Crystal Palace are now without a win in their last three Premier League games after they suffered a 1-0 defeat against Bournemouth on Tuesday night.

The Eagles have suffered eight defeats away from Selhurst Park already, and Oliver Glasner will not be happy with the manner of their latest defeat.

Palace created some very good chances in the first half and had one goal disallowed from Eberechi Eze after a VAR check. Justin Kluivert came off the bench and scored the winner for Cherries who have won four out of their last five games.

Tim Sherwood was left impressed by Eze during the game and hailed him as “different class” on Sky Sports (2 April) in the first half.

The 25-year-old midfielder made two key passes during the game, but Palace looked toothless in front of goal. Glasner admitted after the game that they need to do better in the box, as he searches for his second victory.

Sherwood raves about Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze

Sherwood said (around the 20-minute mark): “Incidentally this boy is a different level to anyone. He is one of the top midfielders in the country in my opinion. Eze. He is different class.”

Palace have won just one out of their last four games. Antoine Semenyo out-muscled David Ozoh to set up Kluivert, but Glasner refused to blame his players after the match.

Dean Henderson made one great save in the first half but otherwise, there was very little noticeable action at Vitality Stadium, where the game was played out in wet and windy conditions.

It has been a familiar pattern for Palace and Glasner will have a clear idea by now where the club should invest next summer. Palace need quality attacking midfielders and strikers who can guarantee goals.

They have been creating chances but lacking the decisiveness in the opposition box. The Eagles are eight points above the relegation zone, and face a tough game against Manchester City at Selhurst Park next Saturday.

In other Crystal Palace news, Glasner has been left seriously impressed by ‘excellent’ Eagles player.
