Liverpool are in the middle of a thrilling Premier League title race and are aiming to add two more trophies to their list this season having won the Carabao Cup already.
Off the pitch, the Reds are working behind-the-scene to appoint their next manager, with Jurgen Klopp set to leave at the end of the season.
The Reds have used data to create a longlist of options, and are in the process of trimming down the list of candidates. According to reliable journalist, Ben Jacobs, the Reds are “advancing” in their search to appoint their next manager.
Despite missing out on Xabi Alonso, who has decided to stay with Bayer Leverkusen, Liverpool are calm about their search, and they are expected to carry out their job on their own terms.
Jacobs claims that it was also important to know when the club will announce the next manager once they have sealed an agreement. The journalist says that the Reds plan to finalise Klopp’s replacement before the season ends.
However, Liverpool will not make the public announcement quickly as it can disrupt their present campaign and overshadow Klopp’s farewell.

He wrote on Daily Briefing: “Liverpool are advancing in their search to replace Jurgen Klopp, and have been able to do so now both Michael Edwards (FSG’s CEO of football) and new sporting director Richard Hughes have been appointed.
“Liverpool are calm about their search and will very much carry it out on their own terms. Once they have a manager locked in, when they choose to announce it will also depend on the manager and their club and, as importantly, Klopp.
“The club plan to finalise Klopp’s replacement before the season ends, but a public announcement will be timed so as not to overshadow Klopp’s farewell or disrupt a season where Liverpool are still fighting on three fronts.”
Managers who could replace Jurgen Klopp
Alonso would have been a perfect replacement for Klopp but he decided to stay in Germany. Liverpool have the structure in place to make this crucial decision with Michael Edwards returning to the club as CEO, and Richard Hughes being appointed as the sporting director.
Sporting boss Ruben Amorim is the leading candidate at the moment but nothing has been finalised. Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi is also under consideration. Hughes is a big fan of De Zerbi but the Reds are keeping an open mind rather than focussing on one candidate only.
The Reds have also discussed Inter Milan’s Simone Inzaghi, but he is unlikely to be available. This is an important month for the Reds, and the club will hope to advance in their search for the next manager.
