Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah could be set for exit

Arsenal will be looking to bolster their forward region in the summer transfer window.

The Gunners were linked with a move for Brentford striker Ivan Toney in the January window, but they didn’t come up with a formal offer. Instead, Mikel Arteta kept faith in his squad, and they have peaked to new heights in 2024, winning 15 of their last 16 games.

However, the club feel that they need a killer in the final third to help win major trophies.

According to a report from Football London, Eddie Nketiah could leave the club this summer. The 24-year-old hasn’t started a game for Arsenal since 2024.

A host of clubs, including Crystal Palace, have shown interest in Nketiah in the past. It seems that the Eagles are still interested in signing him.

Arsenal summer transfer plans – need for striker

Nketiah broke into the senior team from the Gunners’ youth academy. In 2017, he made his senior debut for the Gunners and has made over 165 appearances, scoring 38 goals.

The striker has scored five goals in 10 starts this season in the Premier League. While he has struggled to cement a regular spot, he has always impressed when called upon.

After scoring his first Premier League hat-trick in Arsenal’s 5-0 win over Sheffield United, journalist Ben Jacobs described him as “sensational”.

Nketiah is a decent Premier League striker and he needs to join a club where he will get regular games. It is clear that the Gunners are looking to bring more quality to the side, and an upgrade is needed.

Arteta may struggle to sign the likes of Toney and Ollie Watkins though, but Arsenal are expected to land at least one top-quality striker this summer. Newcastle striker Alexander Isak, who can play on the wing, is admired by decision-makers at the club.

The Magpies, however, have indicated that they have no intention to sell the Swede international.
