Serie A club Bologna are certain that Arsenal will make a move to sign the Netherlands youth international Joshua Zirkzee when the summer transfer window opens in the coming weeks, according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato Web.
The Dutchman has a release clause that his former club Bayern Munich and other suitors can activate when the transfer window opens, and Bologna are bracing themselves for an offer from the Gunners.
AC Milan and Juventus are also keen on Zirkzee, who has been dubbed ‘special’ by Bologna manager Thiago Motta, but it appears Arsenal are favourites to land him.
The 22-year-old has bagged 11 goals and four assists in 34 Serie A games for the Italians this term, an impressive return which has helped them book a place in the group stages of the Champions League next season.
His performances have impressed Arsenal who are expected to bring in a new striker regardless of what happens on Sunday.
The North Londoners are two points behind Premier League leaders Manchester City heading into the last game of 2023-24 and will need to win against Everton and hope the reigning champions drop points against West Ham United if they are to clinch their first title since 2004.
