Eight players, including Zinchenko, Partey & Nketiah, could leave Arsenal this summer

Arsenal are gearing up for a busy summer transfer window that could see up to eight players leave the Emirates Stadium in a massive clear-out.

According to The Sun, Aaron Ramsdale, Cedric Soares, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Thomas Partey, Fabio Vieira, Mohamed Elneny, Eddie Nketiah, and Reiss Nelson could exit the Emirates this summer.

The Gunners came agonisingly close to ending their 20-year wait for the Premier League title but were beaten to the punch by Manchester City for a second consecutive campaign.

Unlike last term when Mikel Arteta’s side capitulated during the run-in, their improvement was evident this season after battling with City for the title until the final day.

Even though they came up short, losing out by a meagre two points, there’s a general feeling that the Gunners are getting closer to ending their Premier League title drought.

However, this summer transfer window could be crucial in closing the gap to City even further, and Arsenal are planning a clear-out to make space for a couple of fresh faces.

The Gunners want to reinforce their midfield and attack and are looking at a couple of high-profile signings that could be the point of difference next term.

Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes is on their wishlist, along with Sporting CP marksman Viktor Gyokeres, who fired his side to the league title this season.

Guimaraes could leave St. James’ Park this summer, but Arsenal could face strong competition from City, who are also keen on the Brazilian international.

A midfield trio of Declan Rice, Guimaraes, and Martin Odegaard will undoubtedly send shivers down the spine of the opposition

But Arsenal need to activate the Brazilian’s £100 million release clause before the end of June to get a deal over the line.

Guimaraes has been one of the best midfielders in the Premier League since he arrived in Tyneside in January 2022, and it would be a massive blow if Newcastle are unable to retain his services.

However, a move to Arsenal could be too good for the former Olympique Lyon man to turn down, considering Arteta’s side are getting closer to becoming a force to be reckoned with.
