Leeds United will be looking to bolster their defensive areas in the summer transfer window.
During the January window, the Whites were looking to sign a new right-back. Luke Ayling was allowed to join Middlesbrough on loan, and they were short of options at the back.
In the end, they signed Connor Roberts on loan from Burnley. While Roberts has done well for the Whites, it remains to be seen whether Leeds make the move permanent.
Archie Gray has often filled in at full-back areas, and it becomes apparent that Leeds will need to add a new right-back this summer.
According to Sky Germany journalist, Patrick Berger, Leeds are looking to sign Borussia Dortmund defender Marius Wolf. The 28-year-old is set to leave the German giants after six years stay on a free transfer, and Leeds are keen to sign him.
Berger says that if Leeds secure a promotion to the Premier League, Wolf will become a “realistic option” for them.
He wrote on X: “Exclusive: Leeds United is interested in signing Marius Wolf (28). The right-back is leaving Borussia Dortmund after six years as a free agent. If Leeds promoted to the Premier League, a transfer could be a realistic option for Wolf.”
Securing promotion is key for Leeds United
There are suggestions that the 49ers are relaxed about the situation. They see it as a long-term project, but that does not mean they would be happy if they fail to secure the promotion.
Daniel Farke has done a brilliant job so far. Since the start of the year, Leeds peaked up to a new height and even closed down a 17-gap with Leicester City at the top.
However, they ran out of steam towards the end of the season and missed the chance of automatic promotion by a whisker. They have another chance of getting back to the Premier League if they win the play-off final against Southampton at Wembley.
Wolf has played all his life in Germany. He has made 120 appearances for Dortmund, and would probably welcome a move to the Premier League.
In other Leeds news, 23-year-old winger is being tracked by a host of clubs this summer.
