Tottenham considering move for Callum Hudson-Odoi

Tottenham Hotspur are considering making a summer move for Nottingham Forest winger Callum Hudson-Odoi, according to a report from The Guardian

Spurs rejected the opportunity to sign him last summer when he was at Chelsea, but they now have a change of opinion following his brilliant performance for Forest in the 2023-24 season.

Ange Postecoglou will continue his rebuild of the squad this summer with major changes expected in the summer transfer window. The north London club are desperate to sell their fringe players to free up space for fresh additions.

Emerson Royal, Japhet Tanganga, and Sergio Reguilon are set to depart, while Richarlison and Yves Bissouma could also be sold. Hudson-Odoi could be one of those players who could come into the squad.

Last season, the Spurs squad was stretched by injury and that too when the club did not play in Europe. Next season, they will play in the Europa League, and Postecoglou will need a big squad to cope with the dual pressure of domestic and European football.

Callum Hudson-Odoi impressed last season for Forest

The 23-year-old was once seen as one of the crowning jewels of Chelsea’s academy. However, he failed to live up to expectations at Stamford Bridge and was sold to Forest.

He has managed eight goals and one assist in 20 starts in the Premier League last season. If Spurs come up with a good offer, Forest could be tempted to sell him.

Additionally, Spurs need to make a decision on the future of Timo Werner. The German forward joined Spurs on loan during the January window from RB Leipzig and the north London club have the option to sign him permanently for £15 million.

Having suffered points deduction last season, Forest could be looking to sell some of their players before June 30 if they are to comply with the Premier League’s profitability and sustainability rules.

Tottenham can take advantage of their scenario and make an early move for Hudson-Odoi.
