Viktor Gyokeres trying to force through a move to Arsenal

Exciting news has just emerged from Portugal regarding Arsenal’s hunt for a new centre-forward.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta will be desperate to bolster his centre-forward department at the Emirates in the summer transfer window.

Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres has been linked with a move to Arsenal by the likes of The Mirror on multiple occasions over the past few months.

With Arteta in need of a striker, the links with the prolific 25-year-old hitman are hardly surprising are they.

The powerful, hard-working and clinical striker has a €100 million (£85 million) release clause in his contract with Sporting (Fabrizio Romano).

And now, it is being claimed that the Sweden international could try to push through a move to join the North London giants…

Viktor Gyokeres trying to force through Arsenal move

According to a report from Correio de Manha (print edition, page 11), the former Coventry City striker is desperate to join a major European club this summer.

He is allegedly pushing to join Arsenal from Sporting, and is desperate to impress Gunners scouts during the final few games of the season.

Described as a ‘world-class’ striker by The Sun, Gyokeres has been in stunning form for Sporting CP this season. The 25-year-old forward has bagged an incredible 40 goals and 15 assists in 46 games for the Portuguese giants so far.

The Swede is a willing runner, and is superb at stretching the opposition’s backline by making tireless runs into the channels. He is equally as strong with both feet and is very good at playing with his back to goal, holding up the ball and turning defenders.

On top of all of that, he is clearly one of the very best finishers in the game. Viktor Gyokeres could well turn Arsenal into world beaters.

He allegedly wants to move to the Emirates, but whether or not the Gunners owners will be prepared to meet his £85 million release clause remains to be seen.
