Newcastle United forward Yankuba Minteh could be close to leaving St James’ Park in the summer transfer window.
According to a report from The Chronicle, the 19-year-old winger has agreed personal terms with an unnamed club and the decision now rests with Newcastle.
Marseille, Borussia Dortmund and AS Roma are interested while Everton are also in the mix to sign the player.
Newcastle are looking to sell him for around £40 million before June 30 to stay within the limits of the Premier League’s financial rules (PSR).
Minteh’s agent, Bakary Bojang, told Chronicle Live that the Magpies are looking to sell the winger if they receive a good offer and are already in talks with other clubs.
“It is correct that Newcastle are willing to sell the player if they receive a good offer. From our side if Newcastle wants to sell and the sporting project is good we will definitely look at it. We are in communication with some clubs,” said Bojang.
“I can’t confirm clubs who are in communication with us. We have agreed terms with one of the clubs. So now the rest is with Newcastle.”
The next few days are crucial for Newcastle
The Magpies are showing keen interest in signing Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin this summer, and they are in talks over a potential deal.
In case, Calvert-Lewin joins the Magpies, they are likely to offload Minteh and Callum Wilson, who is also attracting interest from West Ham.
Minteh joined Feyenoord last summer on loan from Newcastle and impressed heavily for the Dutch side.
Ideally, Eddie Howe wants to keep him at the club, but Newcastle would be tempted to offload him if they receive a good offer.
Everton have a good chance of signing Minteh. The Toffees should look to arrange a separate deal in which Minteh moves to Goodison Park and Calvert-Lewin moves to the Tyneside club, a deal that would benefit both clubs.
