Arsenal one of the clubs Joshua Kimmich is willing to join if he leaves Bayern Munich

Arsenal are one of the clubs Bayern Munich defender Joshua Kimmich is willing to join if he leaves the Bundesliga club this summer, according to Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg.

The German international is out of contract next summer and will not renew his deal, which could leave Bayern with no choice but to sell him.

Manager Vincent Kompany is already preparing for life without Kimmich, which could work in the favour of Arsenal as they look to further strengthen their squad this summer ahead of another title challenge in 2024-25.

£42 million could be enough to land the 29-year-old, and the Gunners will be wise to invest that sum into the recruitment of such a ‘world-class’ player.

Kimmich is also open to joining Manchester City, Liverpool, Real Madrid or Barcelona, and an exit from Bayern is almost guaranteed in the coming weeks.

Arsenal are yet to make a concrete move for the versatile star, but they could soon do so given the latest development and pipping the aforementioned five clubs to his services will be huge.

Apart from the top-level quality Kimmich brings to the table at right-back, he is also equally excellent playing as a defensive midfielder, largely shuttling between both positions for almost a decade.

Arsenal are looking to bolster their defensive options, and signing one player who can be an answer to that problem will be perfect.

The Bayern hero has everything it takes to improve their squad and give their current right-backs and defensive midfielders a run for their money as he brings more than just squad depth to the table.

The North Londoners need more quality within their ranks if they want to beat Manchester City to the title next term, and adding players like Kimmich to the team will go a long way in helping them achieve their dreams.
