Arsenal have received a massive boost in the race to sign Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy in the summer transfer window.
The Gunners are among clubs showing keen interest in signing the 28-year-old striker, but face competition from Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan.
According to Sky Germany journalist, Florian Plettenberg, Guirassy has confirmed the German club that he wants to leave in the summer.
The news will come as a huge boost for Arsenal as they are desperate to sign a new striker ahead of the new season. They have been heavily linked with moves for Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen, but both would be costly purchases.
The Gunners finished second in the Premier League last season behind Manchester City and narrowly missed out on the title. They do have a solid squad, but many feel that adding a striker would make them even stronger.
Guirassy has been enjoying his best form in the Bundesliga. Last season, he netted 30 goals in as many games for Stuttgart, helping them qualify for the Champions League.
However, the player’s decision to leave the German side has opened the door for other clubs to make a move for him in the coming days.

Guirassy would come at a decent price, with Arsenal simply needing to trigger his £17 million release clause.
Compared to other strikers they have been linked to, this comes as a bargain. He is at the peak of his career, and Arsenal could reap the best two-three years out from him.
Arsenal decided against signing a new striker in the January window, and the decision was vindicated as they went on a great run until the end of the season.
But it would be ludicrous to enter the new season without a new number nine. Gabriel Jesus has struggled with his fitness, while Eddie Nketiah faces an uncertain future. If Nketiah finally leaves the Gunners, Guirassy could be an ideal replacement.
