Bayern Munich and Barcelona have enquired about Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes, according to Portuguese outlet A BOLA.
Sources close to the Portugal international claim the European duo are keen to find out the conditions for a transfer and may soon proceed with a formal approach ahead of the summer transfer window.
Fernandes is currently valued at £60 million by Transfermarkt and currently earns £250,000 per week at the Old Trafford club.
He claimed he was not interested in leaving Man United last month but insisted their expectations must match his.
The Red Devils will be competing in the Europa League next term after winning the FA Cup, and whether that will be enough to keep Fernandes beyond this term remains to be seen.
The 29-year-old is slowly approaching the twilight of his career and could start considering his future if there are no guarantees Man United can start winning major silverware anytime soon.
They last won the Champions League in 2008 and have not won the league title since 2013, and leaving for greener pastures could be very tempting for Fernandes.
Bayern and Barca will be watching him in action at the European Championships later this month and could proceed with a concrete bid if they are convinced by his performances at the tournament.
Man United manager Erik ten Hag will be desperate to hold on to Fernandes, but the future of the Dutchman at the club is not guaranteed and another manager could have other ideas if he is fired.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe wants to sign young players this summer, and only the trio of Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund are reportedly strictly off-limits to would-be suitors.
Losing Fernandes will be bad news for the Red Devils given his huge influence, but this summer represents their best chance to get a valuable fee from a sale, and a tempting bid from any of the clubs courting him could force their hands.
