Pakistan fell to a humiliating loss to the United States in their opening match of the 2024 T20 World Cup.
The hosts were cruising to a victory at one stage when they only needed 56 runs with nine wickets in hand.
But the Babar Azam-led side forced the super over with some impressive bowling towards the end.
However, USA had the last laugh as they won the super over by five runs.
How can Pakistan qualify for the Super Eight?
Pakistan came into the tournament on the back of a T20I series loss to England but they were expected to do well in the competition given their superb pace attack.
But the Green Shirts are now facing the risk of an early elimination after their defeat at the hands of USA at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas.
Pakistan will take on arch-rivals India this Sunday and they must win the match to keep their qualification hopes alive.
The 2009 champions would also have to beat Canada and Ireland to further boost their chances for the Super Eight.
But if Pakistan lose to India, which is more likely, their qualification chances will become very slim.
This is because if USA beat Ireland, they will have more points than the Green Shirts even if they win their final two matches.
The host nation’s qualification chances will also be higher than Pakistan even if they lose to Ireland and India due to their superior run rate.
