Crystal Palace ready to offload Odsonne Edouard

Crystal Palace are set for a massive transfer window and few players could be heading out of Selhurst Park this summer.

According to a report from London News Online, the Eagles are willing to listen to offers for their striker Odsonne Edouard.

Writing on their website on 5 May, the media outlet suggests that Palace value the 26-year-old striker at around £20 million.

Jean Philippe-Mateta was outstanding last season and will remain the club’s main striker next season. However, the Eagles are also looking to add another striker and may need to offload Edouard.

The former Celtic striker scored seven goals in the Premier League last season but started only once under Glasner. He has featured 101 times for Palace and netted 21 times, but has clearly fallen down the pecking order.

Crystal Palace should back Oliver Glasner

After a strong end to last season, Glasner has won the confidence of the Palace fans. The German boss has already made it clear that the Eagles will not lose their key players this summer, but he should be properly backed in the market to improve the squad.

As things stand, Palace are set to secure the signing of Chadi Riad. The Real Betis centre-back has completed his medical, and he will become the club’s first signing once the January window opens. Daichi Kamada is expected to join next on a two-year deal as a free agent.

Palace, meanwhile, has released Nathan Ferguson but retained Nathaniel Clyne, who has signed a new one-year contract extension. Clyne is a Palace academy graduate and has made over 215 appearances for the senior side.

Jairo Riedewald and veteran centre-back James Tomkins are both expected to leave the club as their contracts are set to expire.
