Everton are reportedly keen to sign an attacking midfielder this summer, and they have earmarked Lamine Camara as a possible option.
According to a report from French publication, Jeunes Footeux, the Toffees are one of the clubs showing keen interest in signing the 20-year-old attacking midfielder.
The FC Metz midfielder impressed heavily last season, managing 35 appearances for the French club. However, his long-term future has come under doubt after Metz got relegated last season.
Everton could face competition from fellow Premier League rivals Fulham. Several clubs, including Galatasaray, are keen to sign the midfielder who still has two years left on his current deal.
Early this year, the Senegal international scored a worldie in their Africa Cup of Nations opener against Gambia, which Sky Sports described as “simply stunning.”
He has a market value of around £8.4 million, and Metz could be looking around the figure to sanction his potential departure.
Big transfer window ahead of Everton
After flirting with relegation for the past three seasons, finally it seems like the Toffees could head into a new direction. Despite losing eight points last season, the Toffees finished comfortably above the relegation zone.
It indicates that if Sean Dyche is given time and money, he can help the Toffees build a strong foundation for the future once again. At the moment, all eyes will be on the takeover, and Everton fans will hope that the deal goes through quickly.
The Friedkin group has bright plans for Everton. They will not only remove the debts but also invest in the squad and academy facilities. If Dyche gets a decent fee to spend in the market, Everton could make a strong push towards the end to improve the squad.
Right now, they may have to offload a few players to comply with the Premier League’s financial rules. Amadou Onana is likely to be sold, while Jarrad Branthwaite is being chased by Manchester United.
