Everton set asking price for striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Newcastle United are in talks to secure a deal for Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the summer transfer window.

The Magpies are reportedly confident of completing a deal for the Toffees striker, who has only a year left on his current contract.

Luke Edwards of The Telegraph reported that negotiations are ongoing over the fee and journalist Joel Bland on X (22 June) reported that Everton would consider a fee in the region of £20 million for their star striker.

The deal is “well underway” as Eddie Howe wants to add more depth and quality to the side. He wants to add more competition for Alexander Issak upfront and feels Calvert-Lewin, who scored goals last season, would be a perfect candidate.

The Everton striker is equally open to joining the Tyneside club, and it will be interesting to see if the Magpies are ready to pay the amount for the 27-year-old striker.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin set for Everton exit?

The Everton striker has been a key player for the Merseyside club over the years, but his injury problems remain a major issue. With his contract expiring, the Toffees probably will not mind selling him at a decent price.

Everton should look to sign a new striker this summer should Calvert-Lewin leave Goodison Park. Beto has not been able to make a strong impact, and doubts remain over his long-term future, as clubs in Turkey are vying for his signature.

Newcastle are likely to sell Callum Wilson, although Eddie Howe wants the veteran striker to stay put. The 32-year-old has been a wonderful player for the Magpies, and he has already started training to keep himself in the best possible shape for next season.

In case he leaves, Calvert-Lewin will come as a natural replacement. Everton are also showing keen interest in signing Newcastle winger Yankuba Minteh and have already made an approach to bring him to Goodison Park.
