Iliman Ndiaye undergoing Everton medical

Everton are close to securing their third summer signing after agreeing a deal for Iliman Ndiaye.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the 24-year-old attacking midfielder has agreed a five-year contract at Goodison Park.

It has been reported that the Toffees will pay a fee in the region of £17 million, including add-ons, and Marseille have accepted those terms.

Romano has now posted a new update (26 June) on Ndiaye’s transfer situation. The former Sheffield United midfielder is currently undergoing his medical on Merseyside, and it appears that Everton have finally sealed their target unless there’s a dramatic collapse.

“Exclusive: Iliman Ndiaye, currently on Merseyside undergoing medical tests as new Everton player. OM will receive €18.5m plus €1.5m add-ons, Ndiaye signs a five-year contract until June 2029,” wrote Romano on X.

Everton showing ambition in the transfer market

Despite their financial woes, the Toffees have already secured two signings. They have signed Tim Iroegbunam from Aston Villa and Jack Harrison on loan from Leeds United.

Ndiaye will become the third signing of the summer unless there’s any major problem during the medical. It is obvious that a deal has been agreed, otherwise, Marseille would not have allowed the player to travel to Merseyside to complete his medical.

Everton initially wanted to sign the attacking midfielder on loan with a view to making it permanent, but Marseille wanted a straight transfer.

Ndiaye has struggled to make an impact in the French League, but his performances in the Championship for Sheffield United caught Everton’s attention.

He managed 14 goals and 10 assists in 46 games for the Blades in the Championship, and Sean Dyche will hope that he can replicate those numbers for the Toffees.

Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin was heavily linked with a move to Newcastle United but the Magpies have decided to pull out of the race after the Toffees refused to lower their asking price.
