Liverpool set to bid for Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville

Liverpool are set to make a bid for Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville, according to a report from Leeds Live

The UK media outlet reported online on 16 June that the Reds are set to make an offer for the 22-year-old winger who is valued at around £35 million.

Chelsea are also interested in signing him, but neither club has made a formal bid for the Whites winger yet.

If Arne Slot manages to bring his compatriot to Anfield this summer, it could spark a “domino effect” on other deals. The Whites winger is in high demand, and someone “needs to blink first” to start a transfer chain reaction.

The Reds have been linked with moves for Crystal Palace pair Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise, but they will surely drop the idea of signing the pair if they land the Leeds winger. This will allow other clubs like Newcastle United or Tottenham Hotspur to take a shot on those deals.

Should Liverpool make a move for Crysencio Summerville?

Summerville enjoyed an “incredible” 2023-24 campaign in a Leeds shirt, managing 20 goals and nine assists in the Championship.

His contribution to the side goes beyond just numbers. He is a “phenomenal” talent who can play on both flanks and has fabulous dribbling skills.

Summerville is still far from being a finished product and he can reach new heights under Slot at Liverpool.

Ideally, Daniel Farke would love to keep him, but Leeds would be powerless to prevent him from leaving if the Reds submit a tempting offer.

Liverpool need to sign a new centre-back this summer, but they are also looking to sign players in the forward areas. Olise could be a fantastic signing for the Reds, but there is plenty of competition for him.

Summerville has shown no inclination to leave Leeds this summer, but his situation could change drastically in the coming months.

In other Liverpool news, Euro club have received a bid for player the Reds desperately want to sign.
