Manchester United have put Bologna centre-back Jhon Lucumi in their sights in recent months and could swoop this summer, according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato Web.
The Red Devils want to reinforce their defensive ranks in the coming weeks having lost Raphael Varane.
Man United centre-back Victor Lindelof is also on the radar of Everton, and a move for Lucumi, who is currently impressing at the Copa America with Colombia, could be on the cards.
The 26-year-old helped his country to a 2-1 victory over Paraguay in their opening game of the tournament earlier this week and will be looking to put in top performances when they take on Costa Rica and Brazil in their remaining group games.
Lucumi was also impressive during the wins over Spain and Romania in the friendly games back in March, which would have further convinced Man United of his qualities.
Bologna valued him around £17 million at the time but it could skyrocket in the coming weeks if he ends up having a brilliant campaign at the Copa America.
Man United are not the only club monitoring Lucumi, with Atletico Madrid also keen, and more sides could emerge for his services in the coming weeks.
Top-quality left-footed centre-backs are hard to come by nowadays, and the Red Devils will have to be convincing enough to lure the Colombian to Old Trafford.
While they will be featuring in the Europa League next term, Bologna are playing in the Champions League, which could see Lucumi decide to remain with them or move to a club offering the elite European competition.
Man United remain a force to reckon with and are still one of the biggest clubs on the planet, but they are not what they once used to be and everyone no longer jumps at the opportunity to join them if better offers are available.
