Manchester United interested in Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Manchester United are among clubs showing keen interest in signing Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, according to Inews

The Toffees striker has one year remaining on his current contract at Goodison Park and was heavily linked with a move to Newcastle United. The Magpies have pulled out of the race after Everton refused to lower their £40 million asking price.

Serie A giants AC Milan are also interested in signing the 27-year-old striker who scored eight goals last season for Sean Dyche’s side.

The report (25 June) shares that doubts remain about Calvert-Lewin’s future, with Everton “insiders suspecting” that the striker is “scoping out his options before committing to a new contract.”

The Red Devils have shown keen interest in signing Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite but the Toffees are holding firm in their valuation of the defender.

The Toffees have already rejected a bid from United, but Erik ten Hag’s side are expected to make another attempt to bring him to Old Trafford.

It appears that they are also interested in signing Calvert-Lewin. Anthony Martial will leave Old Trafford this summer, and a quality striker is needed who can compete with Rasmus Hojlund upfront.

Everton have been very busy in the summer transfer window so far. They have already secured a £9 million deal for Aston Villa midfielder Tim Iroegbunam and offloaded Lewis Dobbin to Villa Park.

Jack Harrison has joined from Leeds United on loan yet again. The Toffees have also confirmed that Ashley Young has signed a new one-year contract extension at Goodison Park.

Everton are also looking to sign Marseille attacking midfielder Iliman Ndiaye and have made progress on the transfer. Reports of an agreement being struck are premature, but both clubs are working on finalising the free structure.
