Nottingham Forest are keen on bringing Brest left-back Bradley Locko to the Premier League this summer, according to French outlet L’Equipe.
Manager Nuno Espirito Santo wants to strengthen his squad after the Tricky Trees escaped relegation last season, and the 22-year-old Frenchman has emerged as a serious target.
Forest have decided against signing Nuno Tavares permanently after the Arsenal defender failed to impress at the City Ground last term during his loan spell, and Locko has emerged as an option to replace the Portuguese.
However, the Reds are not the club keen on recruiting the services of the Olympic-bound full-back, with Napoli also monitoring his situation, while clubs from the Bundesliga want him too.
The left-back weighed in with three assists in 33 Ligue 1 games last term and was a key player as Brest eventually finished third after initially challenging for the title, sealing a place in the group stages of the Champions League next term.
Locko was named in the UNFP Ligue 1 Team of the Year as a result of his impressive performances all through the campaign, and Forest will be landing a quality player should they manage to pip competition to the former Reims star.
Convincing him to ditch Champions League football for a team that finished 17th in the English top-flight last term and 16th in 2022-23 could also be tricky, and more suitors are expected to emerge for his services if he ends up impressing for France at the Olympics next month.
Forest will hope they can lure Locko to the Premier League as becoming a starter in their side would boost his chances of forcing his way into the French senior team, but they have to sort out their Profitability and Sustainability issues before the end of the month to prevent another point-deduction penalty after getting punished last season.
