Rangers are close to securing a deal for French young defender Clinton Nsiala, and he is likely to move to Ibrox in the summer transfer window.
According to journalist Sebastien Denis, the 20-year-old “defensive rock” is set to join Ibrox as a free agent.
Several European clubs, such as Monza, Empoli, Stuttgart, and Hamburg, have shown interest in signing the AC Milan defender, but Rangers are leading the race and are on the verge of securing his signature.
According to Foot Mercato, the young defender has decided not to extend his deal at San Siro. He is one of the pillars of the Milan Youth League Side, and his impressive performances have caught the attention of several top clubs across Europe.
Milan offered him a contract extension, but he has already decided to leave Lombardy at the end of his contract. Rangers, who watched him heavily on numerous occasions, are ahead of other potential suitors in the race.
Rangers have won the race for Clinton Nsiala
It has been suggested that Nsiala has been impressed by Rangers’ project. He has been offered the chance to play regularly at a top club and could participate in European competitions as well.
The fact that he will arrive at Ibrox on a free transfer makes the signing a no-brainer. The Gers must invest heavily in young talents who have tremendous potential and could go on to become regular starters for the club in the future.
Bolstering the defence is one of the priorities for Philippe Clement with Connor Goldson’s future up in the air. The Gers boss is on a mission to make several changes to the squad that can challenge Celtic for the SPFL title next season.
Rangers have already signed Brazilian defender Jefte and it appears that they could be set to sign the former FC Nantes academy player in the coming days.
