Rangers secure deal for AC Milan youngster Clinton Nsiala

Rangers have ageed a pre-contract deal to sign AC Milan defender Clinton Nsiala, the club have confirmed

The 20-year-old will officially move to Ibrox on July 1. The French defender has become the third signing for the Scottish giants this summer, following the additions of Jefte and Oscar Cortes.

Earlier today, Foot Mercato claimed that a host of clubs, such as Monza, Empoli, Stuttgart, and Hamburg, have shown interest in the young defender, but Rangers have moved quickly to sign him on a free transfer.

Rangers director of recruitment Nils Koppen has hailed Nsiala as an “exciting talent” and the Gers believe the Frenchman can develop into a quality player under Philippe Clement.

Koppen said: “We are excited to add a talented young player in Clinton to the squad. He joins as an exciting talent who we believe can develop and take his next steps under our manager, Philippe Clement, and his staff.”

Clinton Nsiala – Fantastic addition for Rangers

After finishing second behind Celtic in the Scottish Premiership last season, Rangers needed to bolster their squad under their new manager. It is going to be another busy summer transfer window, with Clement already on a mission to get rid of fringe players from the club.

Adding a centre-back is a priority for Rangers this summer, and they have managed to complete a deal for Nsiala. He has one Milan first-team appearance under his belt, which shows that he can be a potent weapon under Clement.

The youngster has been impressed by the Ibrox project. He wants to play regularly at a top club, and the Gers can give him the platform to grow. Rangers are expected to make several additions this summer, while there could be a few more departures as well.

Ianis Hagi has been linked with a move away from Ibrox, and Sam Lammers could also be sold.
