Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Genoa forward Albert Guðmundsson.
The Lilywhites made an impressive start to the 2023-24 season under Ange Postecoglou but they suffered a huge slump in form towards the end of the campaign.
Spurs ultimately finished two points behind Aston Villa in the league standings, thus only qualifying for the Europa League.
Tottenham will be looking to make a comeback next term by making some quality additions in the summer transfer window.
The North Londoners have taken the first step towards signing Guðmundsson as they have made an enquiry about him, according to Corriere dello Sport (June 10th, page 17).
But it is said the Iceland international prefers to stay in Italy rather than move to the Premier League.
Inter Milan have also been credited with an interest and the forward is reportedly willing to wait for the Serie A outfit.
Guðmundsson joined Genoa in 2022 from AZ Alkmaar and he has since been a very important member of their first-team.
He helped the Rossoblu to gain promotion from Serie B in his first full season, scoring 11 goals in 36 league appearances.
The Icelandic footballer was also impressive in the Italian top-flight last term as he registered 21 goal contributions in 37 appearances across all competitions .
The 26-year-old has a contract at Genoa until 2027 but he will likely depart the Stadio Luigi Ferraris this summer amid interest from several clubs.
