Tottenham told to pay £30m for Albert Guðmundsson

Tottenham Hotspur reportedly want to sign Genoa star Albert Guðmundsson this summer.

The 27-year-old has been earning rave reviews with his performances in Italy since joining the Red and Blues in 2022.

He played an instrumental role in helping his side gain promotion from Serie B in his first season, bagging 11 goals in 36 league appearances.

The Iceland international was also excellent last term as he registered 16 goals in 37 games.

Guðmundsson has a contract at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris until 2027 but the Italian club are ready to let him leave for a fee around £30 million, per Tuttomercatoweb

Tottenham brought in Radu Dragusin from Genoa in January and now they are targeting another player from the Griffin.

Spurs can afford to pay £30 million for the 27-year-old but they may still look to lower the transfer fee.

The Lilywhites are also interested in adding a new central midfielder and they have been linked with a move for Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher

The North Londoners made an excellent start to the 2023-24 campaign under Ange Postecoglou but missed out on a Champions League berth after a late slump in form.
