West Ham are one of the clubs showing keen interest in signing Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville.
According to a report from The Sun, the Hammers are among clubs interested in signing Summerville, who has earned plenty of plaudits for his outstanding performances last season for Leeds.
The Hammers have already signed Brazilian forward Luis Guilherme and are looking to add more depth in their attacking areas.
Leeds could be forced to cash in on their star player this summer as they need to raise funds through player sales in order to comply with EFL’s financial rules.
Brighton and Chelsea are also interested in signing Summerville who is valued at around £35 million.
Summerville is a “phenomenal” talent who can play on both flanks and has fabulous dribbling skills. He scored 20 goals and provided nine assists in the Championship last season, and ready to take the next step in his career.
West Ham should move for Crysencio Summerville
The Hammers need more quality in their attacking areas. Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus are exceptional players, but West Ham need more quality forwards who can score frequently and win matches.
Maxwel Cornet has proved to be a major flop for the club, and he needs to be sold. Guilherme looks like a promising young talent, but he is unproven in English football. He will need more time to settle in at the new club, and it would be unfair to expect the youngster to hit the ground running.
Brighton have already made an opening offer for Summerville, so West Ham need to make a formal offer, too, if they are serious about signing the 22-year-old winger.
Ideally, Leeds would love to keep Summerville, but they would be powerless to prevent him if there’s a concrete offer on the table. He would a fantastic signing for West Ham, but Julen Lopetegui may have other priorities right now.
