West Ham ready another bid to sign Max Kilman

West Ham are still pushing to sign Wolves defender Max Kilman in the summer transfer window, according to Fabrizio Romano

The Hammers need to sign more than one centre-back this summer and they have earmarked Kilman as a potential option.

Writing on X (25 June), the transfer expert has reported that “talks continue” between West Ham and Wolves for the signing of the 27-year-old defender.

West Ham submitted an opening offer of around £25 million for Kilman, but it was rejected. The Hammers followed up with another bid involving a player as part of the deal but it was still rejected, with Wolves holding on to their £45 million valuation.

Romano now claims that the Hammers are preparing to make another offer shortly. The new proposal is expected to be sent soon.

“West Ham are still pushing for Max Kilman, new proposal expected to be sent soon,” wrote Romano.

“Second proposal also included one player as part of the deal but Wolves rejected again. Julen Lopetegui wants Kilman, talks continue.”

West Ham pushing for next summer signing

The Hammers have already signed Brazilian youngster Luis Guilherme, and they are now looking to add more players this summer.

Bolstering the defence is a top priority for Julen Lopetegui. Angelo Ogbonna has been released by the club, and doubts remain over the long-term futures of Nayef Aguerd and Kurt Zouma.

Kilman is a vastly experienced defender and a key player for Wolves. Lopetegui rates him highly, having coached him during his time at Molineux.

Last season, he made 44 appearances in all competition for Wolves and overall has made 150 appearances for them.

It appears that Wolves are not particularly keen about a swap deal at the moment, but West Ham keep on trying.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers are keen to sign 32-year-old Newcastle striker.
