Arsenal could sell Polish defender Jakub Kiwior for around £13m

Arsenal ace Jakub Kiwior could leave the Emirates Stadium for around £12.7 million this summer, with Juventus keen to sign him, according to Corriere dello Sport.

The Serie A giants have been strongly linked with the Poland international and are expected to formalise their interest in the defender over the next few weeks.

Juventus initially set their sights on Bologna centre-back Riccardo Calafiori, but the Italian defender could be joining Arsenal after the Gunners launched an official bid to sign him.

Arsenal’s £40m proposal falls a bit short of Bologna’s £42.5m asking price, but a deal is expected to be completed as the Gunners have already agreed personal terms with Calafiori.

Having seen their primary target slip through their grasp, Juventus are now looking to poach Kiwior, whose spot at Arsenal will be threatened by Calafiori’s arrival.

Both players have a similar profile, centre-backs who can slot it at left back when required, so Calafiori’s arrival would pave the way for Kiwior to join Juventus.

However, the Gunners may be forced to sell the Polish defender to Juventus for a £7.3m loss after paying around £20m to sign him from Spezia.

Arsenal have a terrible track record of selling players, and Kiwior is poised to join that exclusive list despite having four years left on his contract.

The 24-year-old featured 30 times across all competitions last season, scoring once and providing three assists. He also won 58% of his ground duels and a whopping 67% of his aerial contests.

Despite struggling to nail down a starting berth at the Emirates, Kiwior is a decent option to have on the bench, and Arsenal should be looking to recoup a better fee from prospective suitors.

The former Spezia defender starred for Poland at the 2024 European Championship in Germany, although the Eagles failed to qualify for the knockout rounds.

New Juventus manager Thiago Motta is familiar with Kiwior, having worked with him at Spezia, and a reunion is on the cards with Arsenal eager to sell him this summer.
