Arsenal like Napoli striker Victor Osimhen and the Nigerian loves the idea of joining the Gunners this summer, but meeting his asking price remains a huge problem for suitors, according to Italian outlet Area Napoli.
The 25-year-old is on the market as Napoli manager Antonio Conte wants to reunite with Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku, and while Arsenal have been handed a huge boost as a result of his availability, they have no plans to part with €130m for his services.
Osimhen has proven himself as one of the best strikers on the planet, with 135 career goals to his name across clubs and country, and Paris Saint-Germain are also huge admirers as they look to replace Kylian Mbappe.
He ended last season with 15 goals in 25 Serie A appearances having helped Napoli to the title in 2022-23 with 26 goals in 32 league games, emerging as the highest goalscorer that season.
Arsenal need such a striker to bolster their attacking ranks and boost their chances of finally winning their first Premier League title since 2004, but the financial demand means they are unlikely to make a serious move for Osimhen.
Apart from having Profitability and Sustainability rules to comply with, the Gunners have other areas to strengthen and will not be eager to splash such a fee on a single player.
Arsenal are hoping to seal a deal for Bologna centre-back Riccardo Calafiori and could also look to sign a left-back.
A midfielder and an attacker are also believed to be part of their wishlist for the summer transfer window, and they cannot afford to spend €130m on a single player.
Landing Osimhen would be huge for Arsenal given what he brings to the table but it appears that will not be possible if Napoli do not lower their demands, and manager Mikel Arteta will be looking at other targets in the position as the Spaniard may be unwilling to rely solely on the current options available at his disposal heading into next season.
