Eintracht Frankfurt interested in Leeds United defender Rasmus Kristensen

German club Eintracht Frankfurt are showing concrete interest in Leeds United defender Rasmus Kristensen.

The 27-year-old defender joined the Whites in the summer of 2022 from Red Bull Salzburg and managed 26 games in the Premier League.

After Leeds got relegated, the defender was deemed surplus to requirements and was sent on loan to AS Roma in Italy.

Last season, he made 31 appearances for the Giallorossi but Roma are not looking to sign him permanently. He has returned to Elland Road, but his future lies away from the club.

According to Fabrizio Romano, “talks ongoing” between the two clubs over the sale of the Danish defender.

Romano wrote on X: “Rasmus Kristensen and Eintracht, talks ongoing as exclusively revealed today. Interest is concrete, he’s on the list.”

Farke could be looking to integrate some of the players who were out on loan last season, including Max Wober and Brenden Aaronson.

However, it does not look like Kristensen is a part of his plans. If Leeds can get a decent fee for him, it’s better to offload him.

He failed to impress in the Premier League for Leeds, and his performances on loan last season wasn’t great either.

Leeds may have to sign a new left-back this summer after reports from Spain suggested that Real Betis have opened talks to sign Junior Firpo.

The Whites have already sold Archie Gray this summer, while Jamie Shackleton has left the club as a free agent.

In addition, Marc Roca has left the club permanently, while Glen Kamara is also edging closer to joining Rennes.

Leeds will have money to spend, especially if they lose Wilfried Gnonto or Crysencio Summerville. They have signed three players already, but more players are expected to arrive.
