Everton closing on deal to sign Jesper Lindstrom

Everton suffered a massive blow last week after their ownership takeover failed through.

Despite being in talks for a month during the exclusivity period, the Friedkin group decided not to move with the complete takeover.

Many feared that it might affect the current transfer strategy, but Alan Myers suggested that Everton have the bases covered for the short term.

It means that the Toffees will continue with their transfer dealings as planned, and in the meantime, Farhad Moshiri will look to find a new owner.

Now, fresh reports have emerged that Everton is closing on a deal to sign Napoli playmaker Jesper Lindstrom in the summer transfer window.

According to a report from Fabrizio Romano, the Toffees are close to signing the 24-year-old midfielder.

Everton will pay a loan fee of around €3 million, and will then sign the player permanently next summer for around €22 million.

The Merseyside club are also close to agree contract terms as final details being sorted.

Romano wrote on X: “Everton are closing in on deal to sign Jesper Lindstrøm from Napoli! €3m loan fee, €22m buy option clause and contract terms now on the verge of being agreed.

“Final details being sorted. Exclusive story, confirmed. Here we go, soon.”

Everton have already completed three signings, and Lindstrom could be the fourth arrival at the club.

The Toffees will have money to spend on new players after selling Amadou Onana to Aston Villa in a big-money deal.

Aston Villa were also interested in signing him, but Everton moved in quickly to sign the Demark international.

Lindstrom was brilliant during his time at Brondby and Eintracht Frankfurt, but he did not enjoy a great spell at Napoli.

He is a talented midfielder and there is no reason to believe why he cannot be a big success at Goodison Park. It looks like a smart piece of business from the Toffees.
