Everton complete deal to sign Jesper Lindstrom

Everton are close to completing their fourth signing of the summer transfer window.

Fabrizio Romano claimed on 23 July that the Toffees were close to completing a deal for Napoli playmaker Jesper Lindstrom.

The transfer expert has claimed on X on 24 July that Everton have completed the deal to sign the Denmark international, who is now currently undergoing his medical at the Merseyside club.

The Toffees are signing him on loan. They will pay around £2.1 million loan fee to bring him to Goodison Park and will have the option to buy him permanently for £18.4 million.

If he stays on permanent, the midfielder will then sign a four-year deal at Everton. In his trademark style, Romano says – “here we go” – which means the deal is as good as done.

Romano wrote on X: “Jesper Lindstrøm to Everton, deal completed as player’s on Merseyside to undergo medical tests.

“Napoli will receive €2.5m loan fee and Everton will cover full salary until June. Buy option clause worth €22.5m with four year deal if he stays on permanent. Here we go.”

More signings to arrive at Everton?

Despite suffering a takeover blow this month, it has not affected the club’s transfer business.

Everton have sold two players and signed three, and Lindstrom will become the fourth signing for the club.

The 24-year-old may not have proved his quality for Napoli but his performances for his previous clubs show that he can be a fantastic signing for the Toffees.

After selling Amadou Onana to Aston Villa, Everton have now money to spend on new players.

Losing a combative midfielder like Onana would mean that the Toffees need to bolster their midfield region.

Signing a defensive midfielder could be a priority and Everton have been linked with a move for Kalvin Phillips who has no future under Pep Guardiola.

The Toffees could also look to bolster their wide attacking areas and could make an official move for Leeds United winger Willy Gnonto.
