Everton have an agreement in place to sign Jaden Philogene

Everton are looking to secure their fourth signing of the summer transfer window.

According to Paul Joyce of The Times, the Toffees have an agreement in place to sign Hull City forward Jaden Philogene.

The Toffees have submitted a bid in the region of £16 million, as reported by The Athletic, and the club believe that the electric forward wants to join them.

Ipswich Town are also keen to land the 22-year-old forward, but Everton are emerging as genuine contender to sign him.

Joyce wrote on X (9 July): “Everton have an agreement in place with Hull City for Jaden Philogene.

“Bid in the region of £16m made as per others. Everton believe the player wants to join them. Competition from other clubs but Everton positive.”

He was one of the league’s best players last season for Hull City where he scored 12 goals.

Everton have already signed Tim Iroegbunam and Iliman Ndiaye on permanent deals while Jack Harrison has joined on a season-long loan from Leeds United.

If Philogene moves to Goodison Park, he will become their fourth signing of the summer transfer window.

According to a report from TeamTalk, Premier League giants Manchester United and La Liga outfit Barcelona have also shown interest in the exciting winger, but it is Everton who are confident of completing the deal for him.

What should really encouraging for the Toffees is that the player himself wants to move to Merseyside. He has shown his quality in the Championship and there is no reason to believe why he cannot step up in the Premier League if given an opportunity.

Meanwhile, Manchester United have made another offer to sign Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite but it was swiftly rejected.

The Red Devils have also discussed internally signing Dominic Calvert-Lewin who has only a year left on his current deal.
