Everton are expected to make more signings before the end of the window but they may not sign a new striker.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin was linked with a move away from the club last month, but his move to Newcastle United fell through over his wage demands.
The Magpies retain some interest in the Toffees striker, but Newcastle changed their transfer plans after Paul Mitchell was appointed the director of football.
AC Milan and Chelsea also showed tentative interest in signing Calvert-Lewin but they didn’t follow up with interest to sign him.
He remains at the club and could now sign a new deal at Goodison Park.
Unless Beto—who has been linked with a move to Turkish clubs—leaves, it looks unlikely that Everton will sign a new striker this summer. Instead, Sean Dyche will focus on adding depth in attacking midfield areas.
Everton still unlikely to sign Armando Broja
The Toffees have been heavily linked with a move for Chelsea striker Armando Broja in the summer transfer window.
Jacob Steinberg of The Guardian reported last month that the Blues could sell the Albania forward to Everton. However, no deal has been materialised.
According to a fresh report from Inews, Broja was keen to join Everton had Calvert-Lewin left, but in a new twist, he now looks set to join AC Milan.
Broja would have been a smart signing for the Toffees, but it does not look like Everton will make any further attempt to bring him to Goodison Park, although they have money to spend following the departure of Amadou Onana to Aston Villa.
The Toffees have prioritised bolstering the attacking midfield areas and are close to signing Denmark winger Jesper Lindstrom.
Sean Dyche is also looking to sign a defensive midfielder and wants to sign Manchester City flop Kalvin Phillips. Everton could also make a move for Leeds United winger Wilfried Gnonto.
