Everton have reportedly set their sights on Hellas Verona star Jackson Tchatchoua.
The 22-year-old joined the Mastiffs last summer on a season-long loan and went on to make 26 appearances in Serie A.
Verona were highly impressed with his displays and triggered the option to buy for £2.5 million.
The Cameroon international is contracted with the Italian side until 2027 but it looks he is set for a move to the Premier League with Everton interested in a transfer.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Verona are prepared to sell Tchatchoua if they receive an offer around £6.8m.
The Toffees have been trying to find a long-term successor to Seamus Coleman, who has now turned 35.
They brought in Nathan Patterson in January 2021 but he hasn’t entirely been convincing with his performances.
Injuries have been a big problem with the Scotland international, with neither Frank Lampard or Sean Dyche seeming to have complete faith in him.
Dyche also featured Ashley Young at right-back last season, but he is not a long-term alternative to Coleman.
Tchatchoua could be a smart acquisition for Everton in this transfer window as he is young, highly talented and is available to sign for only £6.8m.
The 22-year-old averaged 3.2 ball recoveries, 1.5 clearances, 0.9 interceptions and 1.5 tackles per game in the Italian top-flight last campaign.
He mainly plays at right-back but can also be deployed as a left or right midfielder.
