Everton sign Napoli winger Jesper Lindstrom on loan

Everton have announced the signing of Napoli winger Jesper Lindstrom on a season-long loan.

The 24-year-old joined Napoli in a £25 million deal last summer but struggled to nail down a first-team berth, starting in just two of his 22 league appearances.

Before joining Napoli, Lindstrom was a key player at Eintracht Frankfurt, playing a crucial role as the Bundesliga club clinched the Europa League title in 2021/22.

He’ll be hoping to find his feet and recapture his best form at Goodison Park.

Lindstrom becomes Everton’s fourth signing of the summer transfer window, joining Tim Iroegbunam, Iliman Ndiaye, and Jack Harrison at Goodison Park.

“I feel very good. It’s amazing to represent Everton,” Lindstrom told Evertontv.

“This is a big club, with big history, a good stadium and, as I’ve seen, very good facilities as well. I’m very, very happy to be here, and I feel like this is a good fit.

“I actually heard of Everton’s interest a while ago – not only from now but previously. England is very similar to Denmark, so I will feel at home quickly. I’m really looking forward to getting started.

“I am 100 per cent ready. I’m so hungry. This pre-season feels long because I just want to play football. I just want to be out there in the stadium.

“Last year was a tough year for me, but I’m so happy to be here now, and I can’t wait to get started.”

Everton have been active this summer, but they’re not done with their transfer business. The Toffees still want to add a centre-back to replace Ben Godfrey, who joined Atalanta earlier this summer.

The Blues have been linked with highly-rated Olympique Lyon centre-back Jake O’Brien.

The French giants are open to selling the Ireland international defender this summer, but Everton will face competition from Premier League rivals Brentford and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
